For our 3 year anniversary we decided it was finally time to brew our first Barley Wine.
Brewed with 100% English grown Maris Otter then boiled overnight for 10 hours the beer is sweet and syrupy and to style with some modernisation on the side.
On the nose there is big hit of raisins, cherry with hints of toffee and cinnamon. Taste wise the toffee and caramel become more apparent with Christmas cake like flavours bursting throughout. With no additional sugars added, this beer is all about the malt and what a long boil can do to enhance it.
Designed for those colder nights, this beer is perfect to sip and enjoy in front of a fire or the heater.
Best enjoyed at 12-16C.
